These yummy scones will fill you with happiness! For maximum goodness, add jelly or jam on top, but having just butter or nothing on them is still great.
Ingredients
- ⅓ sugar
- 2 cups white flour (1 wheat, 1 white whole wheat)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup of butter
- ⅔ cup of milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Combine dry ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. Using a pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine vanilla, milk, and eggs in a separate bowl. Add liquids to flour mixture and stir until ingredients are moistened. With floured hands, shape dough in an 8-inch ungreased cookie sheet. If you want you can sprinkle additional sugar to get a sweeter taste. (We recommend vanilla sugar). Cut dough into 8 wedges and slightly separate them. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Serve warm.
