This is a part 3 in a series we’re doing of the best places to get takeout from (or maybe to outdoor dine at!) during quarantine.
When we first tried Yummy Thai, we were skeptical. We were loyal Sugar and Spice (another Thai place a few blocks away, in Porter Square) customers, but decided to try something new. Spice it up a bit, if you will.
Fortunately, Yummy Thai exceeded our expectations. Their food is comforting, begging you to curl up on the couch and contemplate life while devouring your treasures. MVD (Most Valuable Dish, our favorite from the restaurant) without a doubt goes to their lo mein. The noodles, oh those glorious noodles, taste homemade, and are perfect for slurping. The sauce coats everything, making even those mini corns taste good.
Second place is their crab rangoon. While it is a bit overstuffed, the filling is a delectable mix of cream cheese and actual crab. (We have been less than satisfied with the lack of crab flavor in other restaurants). Also, a big plus is that, if you order enough (and you should, since the serving sizes are on the small side), you get free food! Yeah, free! You can get a appetizer, entree, drink or dessert from a select list, depending on how much you spend. One of the freebie dishes you can get is mango sticky rice, beloved by some, although those feelings are not shared with all of us here at NOCA Gazette.
Yummy Thai, like all of the other restaurants in this series, is a small local business, and needs your support now more than ever. So ordering from Yummy Thai is good for your community, and your tastebuds. A win-win!
I love Thai Food, yum!
Same! What Thai restaurant do you like to go to?
